Synopsis
“The New Gate” is an anime series that follows the adventures of Shin, a powerful player in a virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game (VRMMORPG) called “The New Gate.” The story begins when a climactic battle against the game’s final boss ends with the liberation of thousands of players who were trapped in the game. However, as the game clears, Shin finds himself still inside the virtual world, but now it has transformed into a completely different reality.
In this new world, Shin discovers that 500 years have passed since the game’s original events, and the world is now a real place with its own history and inhabitants. Using his unparalleled abilities and knowledge from the game, Shin sets out to uncover the mysteries behind his entrapment, help those in need, and adapt to this unfamiliar yet intriguing world. Along the way, he encounters old friends and new allies, faces formidable foes, and uncovers the deeper connections between the game’s world and the new reality he inhabits.
